Greetings! I have a second gen (2000) ls four door FWD blazer. The switch is a three button push. It appears that 4HI works as when I push it the light turns on and stays solid. However, when I push 4LO the 4HI light stays on and the 4Lo light just blinks (I assume this means that 4lo isn't working)
My question is two sided.
1. Is it safe for me to drive with 4HI on in the snow if 4Lo is not functioning?
2. What could be causing this issue?
Thanks!

Are you trying to engage 4lo as per the owners manual? You need to have the transmission in neutral with the truck stopped or rolling very slow. You have to disengage the same way.
You have a 2000 Blazer 4x4 a FWD stands for (front wheel drive) Blazers are either RWD (rear wheel drive or 4x4)

4LO is really for situations where traction is at a maximum and mechanical advantage (through gearing) is desired. For normal on-road driving, 4LO should not be used.

Thanks! I'll try to engage it as you mentioned. I'm going to use 4Hi through the snow. Just wanted to make sure that my 4WD is working before I drive with it and get it stuck in 4WD or something.
My pdf download of the owners manual is still on-going
