Great News! Glad we could help. I think we should all have any emergency compartment under the truck somewhere with a wood chock and a giant ruler just in case. That or simply a spare key!!

LOL well yea I thought about creating like a magnetic box wiht a wood chuck and a giant ruler that would magnet to the chassis and would be a lifesaver! lol... But yes the spare key idea is a good one not gonna lie.

In my town you can just call the police and they will come unlock it for free. Gotta love small towns.
My oldest locks himself out at least once every 2 months. He just doesnt have time to get a spare key made, or so he says everytime I nag him about it.
On my '00, it wont let you lock the doors with the key in the ignition and the door open. [sm=lockeddance.gif]

I got locked out of my vehicle once and that was enough for me. After that I decided to always have a spare key inside my wallet just in case such a situation should arise, and believe me it has happened more then once.

the keys in the wallet trick have always worked for me except that one time where i was wearing pants w/o back pockets and my dumbass kept it in the truck. i was 45 mins from home and drunk, all i wanted was my apt keyswhich where in there as well plus it was winter so i wanted to get alittle warm.. and u can imagine how a cop wont help a drunk into his running but locked vehicle. so again i am the master at this, i let the concrete laden sign post fly straight through the pass window. i call it "christening my vehicleunder the eyes of me." but its ok because i have a piece of plexyglass thats fitted perfectly and the junkyard guys are starting to know me for other stuff as well, so 50 bucks and im out the door with a new window

First thing that goes on every vehicle I buy is a spare key in a magnetic box, usually within 24 hours of the purchase. And I also have at least two more keys made for it that stay in a drawer in the house, tagged with the vehicle's ID.
Spare keys at $2 a copy are very, very cheap when they're needed.
