Default How to remove front driveshaft

Anything special about removing the front drive shaft? I've got it loose from the front, but it won't come off the transfer case. I need to pull it off so I can change the transfer case encoder motor. Help please, cause I can't find any other info on this. Thanks,

Aaron.

Should be u-joint straps at both ends. Unbolt them and it should come out. You might have to use a prybar, or long screw driver to pry the u-joints out of the fittings. Mark one of the caps so you put it back in the same place, I use white out. Carefull the caps don't fall off. No biggy if you don't lose any of the needle bearings inside it. If a few of the needle bearings fall out, find them, clena them up, put a dab or two of bearing grease in the cap and slide it back on. Make sure it seats fully and that no bearings lay flat acorss the end of the cap. The grease helps hold the bearings in place, and provides much needed lubrication.
