Key wont go to accessories position.
97 blazer lt 4c4
Bought a used blazer resently and the previous owner said he thought his son might have broken yhe key in the ignition switch. It would start without a key. The buzzer was always on. And it wouldn't go into the accessories position. I bought a new cylinder but it still wont go to accessories, and if i install it with the key in the cylinder. It wont come out. If i install it without. The key. It is ecactly like when i bought it.
. Im wondering if there is something in the columb i can check.

moved to 2nd gen tech section, new member area is just for introductions.
i would double check and make sure the new one is installed properly and seated all the way. maybe remove the new one and test it while its uninstalled. this should tell you if the switch is the problem, or if you have to look deeper

I have replaced the lock cylinder including the key.
i have removed. The swith and checked that it will go into acc position. I have jiggled the steering wheel. I have tried mpving the floor shifter back and forth. Some cars have amanual telease, but not this one.
any other suggestions?
