Eh, that's the cowards way out! Lol I've probably had my tank down ten times since I've had my truck. The thought has crossed my mind as well.

But now I'm such a pro at it, I don't need to cut a hole!

15 hours? Holy crap, man. Must have been fighting it the whole way. From driving in to driving out, I can do a pump in about an hour. But I've changed WAY too many pumps on these trucks lol.

How much fuel was in the tank? Much easier if it's empty. Did you drain it first?
yeah man its been a head ache from the start never doing that again lol laying on the ground with jack stand on the back isn't fun it was in gravels to so yeah have a lot of scratches on my skin now but its done and yeah those skid plates on the tank on it front of the tank and one beside the tank near the driver rear wheel. I spent 8 hours on it the 1st day and 7 on the next day but its done and running oh i forgot to mention i broke the little nipple off on the front vent hose on the tank when I was trying to slip the hose back on so I put rtv over that to keep water out it still has the vent on the back of the tank it didn't break guess it was just brittle from 24 years of age lol.

I've broken those vents before as well. They're fairly cheap to get at a parts store. I have changed the front vent with the tank still in the truck, but lemme tell, you, it was such a pain in the ***, I think dropping the tank might have been easier lol. Took me over an hour, I was somehow soaked in gasoline, it was miserable!
