OBD not connecting
Over the past year when I'd insert my inexpensive OBD scanner I would get increasingly no signal. Have to juggle the connection. Today I went for annual inspection and the inspector could not get a signal. I think it might be the plug itself, so probably that is a good place to start.
Does anyone know what part to get, or how to check/repair, rewire/replace the existing one?

I'm sure you can find a replacement sicket and pins. You'll need a simple tool too to extract the old pins.
If none of the wires have come out, be sure to take a picture of them so you can switch them over to the correct location.
Otherwise you will want a diagram with the pinout to be sure to locate them properly.
Google "replacement obd-ii socket" .
Stores like Del City electrical parts can be a good source of parts, tools, and info.

Found the correct one on line for $18, has the same 4 wires in the same positions. Some snips, tube shrinks and the inspector plugged in and I am good to go.
Can't really see what was wrong with the old one but... I'm legal now.
