Opinions please on Timken front hubs?
Hi guys, I am about to order a replacement front left hub bearing assembly for my 99 4wd Blazer. The one that is failing (making a terrible rumbling sound) was only replaced around 18 months ago & foolishly I bought a real cheap one that obviously wasn't up to the job. It has only done around 15000 miles. Everything was fitted & torqued up according to the shop manual when I fitted it.
So - not wishing to get caught out again I want to buy a better quality one that will hopefully last a lot longer. I am considering fitting a Timken or maybe a Moog. A genuine GM one is of course silly money like most GM stuff is.
Anyone out there have any recommendations/experiences please?

Timken is regarded as the best with MOOG running a close second, followed by genuine GM. Correct wheel alignment adjustments will help with bearing longevity, especially camber, it needs to be zero degrees.

After reading all your replies I ordered a pair of Timken front hubs from RockAuto a week ago & they arrived yesterday. I only have 1 side that's actually noisy but even on the quiet side there's a bit of roughness there when I turn the wheel so gonna replace the pair when the weather is warmer enough when I can actually feel my fingers outside - damn cold here at the moment.
Thanks again for all your advice. Hoping these units will stay on the truck for a long time. Captain Hook - after reading your advice I got the wheel alignment and camber checked at a local tire dealer a couple days ago & everything was spot on so no worries there.

Skf
I went with SKF and it didnt last. My local shop said they only use OEM bearings because they have replaced many and learned the hard way. I have had the same experience with brake pads. Got the OEM pads and they last. The bearings are expensive but the pads are not much different if you order them online. The aftermarket stuff just doesnt last on my Blazer.
