Default Rear hatch won't open

1995, Jimmy. The rear hatch lock has power (I can hear it click). I can't find a way to open the top (glass hatch) so I can repair it? Any Ideas??? every thing I have seen you have to have gate down to remove panel to access lock?

No, search again. There is a slot on the inside of the tailgate, you can slide a flat head in to manually move the mechanism to open the glass. You might have to peel the carpet back to find it.

I know there's a thread on here somewhere that has pics of it

Thanks for helping, I looked up The slot your talking about.... not sure how to get to it with glass door and gate locked closed? Is there an access panel under carpet? when I pull on door panel feels like it will break before I get Clearance under the "Hump" where slot is? Trying not to cause unnecessary damage...I'm good at that lol How would you do it?

You have a broken hatch actuator. There are plenty of threads concerning the repair procedures. "Search' function is your friend.

You access it from the inside. You need to be in the rear cargo area, and pull down the carpet a little, and there is a slot. I had the same problem on mine, I marked the location on the carpet with sharpie, on case I had to get to it again. When I get home, I'll look and post a pic, until then, I'll try to find the thread on here
