Default Rear window washer leak

On our recently bought 2002 S10 Blazer we have the dreadful leaking hose to the rear washer.

Thanks to sunny and warm weather and a dehumidifier I have gotten it dry inside on the floor and mats. I will replace the sound deadener mats with new ones to prevent any bad smell from the old ones.

Here is the cause of the leak, didn't find that until reading here about why that could leak. Unfortunately I did empty two full tanks of washer fluid before that
Somehow the hose is to short

This seems to be the cause of the short hose at the back. In some way the liner that keeps the cables and washer hose has been moved out of its position and then pulled the hose out of the check valve. There is no tell tales about how this could have happen.

Had a piece of plastic hose that fitted really tight on the old hose. I cut it of to get the end to fit properly in the check valve. No leak here!!

Floor and inside is dry as a desert and now it is time to put everything back together

Thanks to this great forum I was able to find the cause, just wish I had checked here earlier :-)

My 1997 has the same check valve in the small cutout as your '02. I was able to pull the hose out a bit, plug it back into the fitting and then I used zip ties to secure it. All connections secured with zip ties. Pretty easy to access on the 1997. As other threads say, just pull the rear trim. On my 1997, there was no need to pull rug back either. As soon as the trip was pulled, everything was accessible. The hose end that came off was buried in the wire harness.

As I just replaced the rear washer motor due to the "stuttering" dysfunction, it was time to fix the lead that drained quite a bit of washer fluid from behind the rear driver's wheel.

I don't think this is a shrinkage issue. It seems to me that 24 years of bumping around and tailgate dropping can cause the door side to migrate. GM also bundled the hose with the wiring, so I cut the ID tape off and that allowed me to pull about an inch back towards the body.

Kudos to the website as a resource for my Blazer cousin that keeps on keeping on!
