Check the decal in the glove box and look for option code AU0. This is one of the option codes for the Keyless Entry.

what year do you have? you can try the steps to reprogram a FOB to it and see if it cycles the lock system. i suspect this would confirm you do in fact have the remote option.

You can check to actually see if you have the Keyless Entry Control Module in your Blazer which is located under the dash. I know someone mentioned its location on here before.

Default remote locks

Sorry its a 96. I read the link befor on programing a fob but I'll be damned if I can find it again. Could you please post the link in your reply.

What does this module look like and where exactly is it?

Thanks

The module is under the dash on the driver's side for some years. I don't know if it is there on the 96.

One method to program the remote is:

Hold down the driver's side door unlock switch. Make sure the door is closed.

Turn ignition ON-OFF & again ON-OFF then release door switch. The doors should automatically lock & unlock. This shows the system is in programming mode.

Hold down both lock & unlock buttons on the remote fob until the doors lock & unlock automatically.

Turn ignition back ON & the remote should be programmed.

if that method fails, because its a 96 and does not have the BCM in it, you can also connect pin 4 and pin 8 on the obd II reader to cycle the remote lock system.

but here's the all in all link for the RKE system.... (reprogramming, finding the RKE module and some other items)
