Does anyone know the GM part number for the remote engine oil filter block on a 99 4wd blazer?
I want to look it up and see how much it is. That will tell me how hard I want to try to remove a broken bolt out of it. I'm pretty sure it is pricey new, I'll also check my local gm scrapyard on Monday.
I was changing my front cooler line, between the radiator and the filter block and the bolt head snapped off. I got the back one off and I removed the grill and the bumper to make it easy to remove the filter block. The bolts that mount it go through the frame under the radiator and it is easier to remove them without all the shrouding in the way.

jegs sells a remote kit, not sure if they have one for the 4.3 or how much it is. the only reason i know is cause i had an old ford with a 351 with the filter in a messed up place. made it hell to change the oil.

He is talking about the factory remote housing.
I did some quick searches through my usual sources and could not locate the part, let alone find a part number or price. Your best bet is going to be a junkyard.

I don't have a lot of hope on used, though. This part is an aluminum block, bolted directly to a steel plate. As such, it is heavily corroded due to galvanic action.
Unless I can find one from a newer or cleaner vehicle, my only route is new.
There are two really good yards near here, one is GM specialty and the other is small, but just trucks.
I will fish for the part number at the dealer, sometimes they don't mind sometimes they do.

Doodad. There is this parts store on Ebay that speciallizes in S10's and S10 Blazer's.I think their store name on Ebay is S10partswarehouse (one word)or something like that. I'll bet they will have it. Again not sure ont he exact spelling of the name but it's close if anything. Good Luck.

Yeah, good point, I remember seeing that once. I'll look when I get home tonight, not supposed to do ebay at work ( or probably this, for that matter )
BTW, The GM number for the remote oil filter adapter is 10236272 (the one under the core support, not the one on the engine)and the sheet metal bracket is 15677626 ( lists for about $82 and $11 respectively, less elsewhere )
I got the boneyard dude looking for one with the bracket attached for $50 total, so if it is in good shape he'll call me. My GMC dealer has stock on the adapter, not the bracket.

Is this what you're looking for?
It's from my rear ended 98 Jimmy.
I wish this board would let us embed Photobucket image links. If I click on the "broken image" icon, it brings up the pic. If you can't see it, it's the remote oil filter and lines and mounting block from my Jimmy, in perfect shape.
If you need a pic, email or PM me, and I'll send you the Photobucket image link.
