Replaced Stereo...Blazer Wont Start

Yesterday, i replaced the original stereo in my 98 blazer with a pioneer something or other. I got everything wired up, I went to turn the ignition and it just cranked and cranked. So, I took the new one out and replaced the old one. Still nothing. I sprayed some starting fluid in the intake and when I started it, it was catching the starting fluid but was acting like there was no fuel coming in? (And yes, there is a full tank.) Is it just coincidence something happened with the fuel lines, or should I be looking for an electrical malfunction?

Sounds like a coincidence. I would put a fuel pressure gauge onto the test port on top of the motor. Sounds like you are experiencing a fuel pump failure. Do you hear the pump prime when you turn the key to the 'run' position?

Yeah, it shouldn't be electrical seeing as it started firing on the starting fluid. Just an unlucky coincidence in my opinion. Good luck!

UPDATE: I unhooked the fuel line forward of the fuel filter, turned the key to try and start it and pumped the gas. Nothing was coming out of the filter. I am not real mechanically inclined, but I'm assuming we're looking at a bad fuel pump?

could be a stopped up fuel filter or relay or bad fuel pump
