Get a frame hitch from the local junkyard. Why would you want 1 hook (2 bolts holding it on?) supporting the weight of your truck during a recovery? That would put a lot of unnecessary strain on one small section of your frame. You most certainly do not want to drill to fit this hook.

Parts for these trucks are a dime a dozen. If I would have known this a few days earlier, I could have gotten you a hitch (for free!) if you just footed the bill for shipping. I am just south of you.

ive yanked many trucks out of holes hooking to the leaf spring shackles. if theres no hooks you gotta do what you gotta do, you can also just wrap the metal bumper but always risk bending it.

on the older s10s ive always put on the mid 90s fullsize chevy tow hooks... its been a while but i remember them almost bolting right on, i think i had to drill one hole or something.

these are the ones i use on all my trucks, including my fullsize trucks, ive never seen one break

friend of mine got stuck really bad with no tow hooks, took a big block suburban like 50 half strap yanks to get him out hooked to the leaf spring shackle up front

only damage was his transmission crossmember where it acted like a plow in the mud

but yeah im always about tow hooks, i even had a front one on my 2wd ranger years ago as i know the importance of them. but in a emergency hook to something very secure to the frame

i also always stay away from those little chrome tow hooks like you get at autozone, seen them break way to many times
