Done it several times without lifting the body, piece of cake. You need one of these: Tubing Bender - Save on this Manual Tubing Bender
Use steel brake line and compression fittings, both are available at most auto parts stores. You'll need this though: Buy Dorman - OE Solutions Steel Fuel Line Repair Kit 3/8 Inch x 12 Inch Double Bead Line 800-155 at Advance Auto Parts

but has anyone done it on a 2 door? there was absolutely no way of getting the old one out in one piece, I ended up cutting it. there is a crossmember that makes the lines pass between the body and frame and makes it impossible to put in or take out as one piece. And igs4dragon8 I am assuming you meant to type body instead of frame? I plan on hitting up the junkyard later and seeing how lucky I can get with the lines from a pickup and lifting the body. Ill let everyone know for future info.

I have a 98 blazer 4 door and I replaced the feed and the return bought pre bent without lifting the body. It was a little tough but with some creative snaking and a little bend here and there, i got it done. Take another look, maybe...

I just got done with this on a 4 door and trust me the bends are no less sever. I followed Hook's advice with using the compression unions. If you still have functioning ends to the tank and the filter with like four inches that's great. If not dorman has stuff for that. Your bends will never match the OEM but it does not matter, its just laying, snaking and bending the best you can. Zip ties to stop rattles. It appears to me the lines are laid on the frame then the body dropped on.
When I spoke with my mechanic he said his method was to get the whole line from GM cut the ends off throw away the middle and splice in the home bent center in with the unions. Kind of expensive but he get's paid for his time.
I used 3/8 copper a/c tube its easy to come by for me.
I spoke with these guys and they said they could make "whatever I wanted". Just a different way to go if you got the buck that it cost's.
