Default Too much air coming in to throttle body

  • I have a 2001 Blazer 4x4 LT and just replaced the fuel pump about 3 weeks ago. Now, when you hit the gas it falls flat on it's face. With pedal to the floor, I'm going about 10-mph. Just replaced the plugs and wires and the vacuum lines, no change. Carborater on top of the manifold sounds like a jet engine. Too much vacuum. Idles fine, but when I try to apply any fuel it flattens out. Again, it starts up perfectly and idles fine, only when I push the accelerator, it falls on it's face. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Try unplugging the MAF sensor to see if it helps. If it does then clean it with MAF spray cleaner.

Is the SES light on? If so ,what DTC's are in memory? Have you checked fuel pressure and leakdown? Have you checked for excessive exhaust back pressure, (possible restriction in catalytic converter)?

Sounds like the engine is suffocating. Perhaps it is a restricted air filter? Or a hose may be collapsing on itself when the throttle is pressed?
