Okay, I've searched all over here but i haven't seen my exact problem
First of all, I have a '97 2dr. LS. All four markers will light up, so the bulbs are okay. The problem is when I first start the car. First turn, the signals work. Second turn, they flash slow, then fast, then slow, etc. Third turn, they will stay on when I try to use them. This happens every time I restart the vehicle. I'm cornfused, since fuses and bulbs are good.
Help!!!
BTW, I am new to Blazers but not to cars by any means.
Thanks

Could be the flasher module going out.
Does the blinker rate slow with each turn of the steering wheel or with each activation of the turn signal?

EVERYTIME I turn on the car it works the first time, albiet slowly. The second time I try, it flashes slow, fast, slow, fast... Third time, solid like a bulb is out.
Now that you mention it though, when the wheel is turned it does tend to flash faster.

Turn on ignition and flasher. Listen for clicking noise.
Replace with much more serious model intended for trailer use and do this even if you will never tow a trailer.
No matter what happens to increase resistance at one corner in the future; these modern heavy duty flashers will handle it and not break down.

I'm going crazy here. I can't find the flasher. Sounds like it is coming from directly in the middle of the dash. Do I have to remove the stereo or take the whole dash off to get to it?

Finally got it. Evidently on the '97, some brilliant GM engineer decided it would be a good idea to put it behind the cigarette lighter. Not an easy thing to get to. Thanks for all the help though.
