Default Vibration problem in passenger side front end'

Hello everyone,

What I am having a issue with is when driving along everything is fine even on the freeways. but sometimes when I hit a pot hole/bump I will get a bad sound from the passenger side front end. The best way to describe the noise is this, its sounds like when you are on the freeway and they have the warning grooves on the side of the road and you go over them. Sometimes when you hit another bump shortly after it starts the noise will go away. If it does not I have to slow way down to make it go away. Ball joints were replaced (3 days ago) after being told that was most likely the cause and so was the tie rod a year ago when this started and they thought that was the cause. Any ideas where to go from here?

Another possibility could be a stuck transfer case vacuum switch thats allowing vacuum to the front differential continuously. When this happened on mine it would intermittently sound like the right front tire was running on rumble strips until you slowed down to 10 - 15 mph or pushed the 4wd button.

Will i hear the grinding noise more if I put the vehicle into 4HI or 4LO?
I ask because when I put the vehicle into 4Hi and LO i can hear a bit of grinding noise but in 2 wheel drive it goes away until i hit a bump.

when you nput it in 4 wheel drive, the cv shafts are turnicg the wheel bearings, basicly forcing the wheels to move, when its in 2 wheel, the front wheels are getting pushed so their is less pressure on the bearings, so yes 4 wheel drive could cause a louder wheel bearing noise. try this, take a couple of hard left turns and a couple of hard right turns and which ever way you turn makes the most noise, replace the other side wheel bearing. for example if the noise gets louder when you turn left, the problem is the right wheel bearing.
