Will a 2000 bravada motor bolt up in my 2000 blazer??
I have a 2000 blazer 2dr and I bought it with a bad motor. The head gasket went & long story short there's antifreeze in the oil so it's shot. I have been looking and havent found many decent prices on used motors but one that is out of a bravada. I know it's a 4.3 so it should bolt right up is my question? If not what will I need for the swap to make it work? Any info would be greatly appreciated Thanks.
They will be identical in every way provided that both are 2wd or 4wd. If the drivetrains are different, then you can just swap the oil pans. You may also have to swap parts around at the oil filter location on the block depending on how your truck is setup. The 4wd trucks have an oil cooler while 2wds may not so there is an adapter instead of the threaded connection that accepts an oil filter.
For the 2002+ stuff, you also have to drill/tap the back of the block for the single wire knock sensor.

depends on if you want rebuilt, used, and what year it fits, I found my 03 with 49k on it for $500, pre-02 with low miles are super rare
if you want used, you can go to car-part.com and enter your zip code and it will give you a list and you can sort by distance from your location

There were a few 2wd 98+ Bravadas, but I think they had to be ordered that way. Both being 4wd makes it a direct drop in swap. I would recommend replacing the oil cooler lines off the motor while you have it out though.
