My vehicle has the same issue, sometimes the window does not want to come up, so I never roll it all the way down. This way, if the switch doesn't work, I can grab the top of the window and pull up while operating the switch. This seems to help the window up.
In my case, I suspect it is a faulty window motor. If the motor stops on just the wrong spot, it won't operate. I feel like eventually the window motor will need to be replaced.
Thanks for your response. The window isn't a problem right now. I hv a new issue with a ck engine light on and code P0446. Plz let me know if you have suggestions about how to fix that. Thanks. Hv a gr8 day.
If you want to fire the parts cannon instead of diagnosing, then do the evap purge solenoid first as it is much cheaper than the charcoal canister. However, typically it is the charcoal canister that gives problems due to overfilling fuel tank. Don't forget to clean carbon out of lines if the canister is the problem.
Follow the diagnostic page I attached if you want to actually do the testing. IMHO the purge valve is the least likely of the three (purge valve, vent valve, charcoal canister) to set a P0446.
Thanks for the diagnostics tests Les. Is there a good video of how to test the evap solenoid vent valve on my 2002 Chevy S-10 Blazer ZR2? Does the video have to be specific or is a 2000- 2004 Trailblazer video applicable? I see many different Chevys on you tube but not my specific vehicle. Most of parts on I've replaced on my vehicle have been specific to my yr make and model. Thanks again for any help with this.
Be VERY careful about YouTube experts. Better to read/understand how it works in the attachment and (if you don't have equipment to test per diagnostic chart) then devise your own way of testing. It is a simple electronic on/off vacuum switch. Why not monitor voltage when it is supposed to be activated and see if the path through it changes appropriately. Or even take it off and externally activate it. Also note any carbon contained in the ports. I personally think its cheap enough to just start by replacing it and looking for carbon. If you find any carbon, replace the canister as well and blow out the lines.
I want to use a smoke machine to test my evap system on my 2002 Chevy S-10 Blazer ZR2. I am attaching a few pics of what I think is the purge valve on the engine. If I am correct and that is the correct line to use how do I remove and then reattach that line? My vehicle has a white fastener on that line. It looks fragile. I don't want to break it.
Thanks for your help and expertise.
