It's pretty easy on the TBs. I think this can be done on the s-series trucks with flash-to-pass as well, but never had a chance to try it.

Pull down the knee bolster under the steering wheel. Remove the metal shield under the column. Locate the main harness connector (3 connectors in one - 2 flat that fit into the top & bottom of the larger rectangular connector). Disconnect the connector by loosening the retaining bolt. Remove the gray flat connector. Remove the blue comb. Using a terminal disconnect tool, swap terminals 11 & 12 (yellow/black or just yellow on older models wire & light green wire). Put it all back together.

One thing to note. By doing this, if you leave the multifunction switch clicked forward after turning off the engine, the high beams will be left on. I never did determine for how long, but it's worth mentioning.

*EDIT* - Just looked this up for the s-series. On the trucks where you can turn on your high beams by pulling towards you with the turn signal stalk (flash to pass), you would have to swap the wire from cavity 11 (purple) on the flat gray connector (C211 E11) with the wire from cavity 8 (brown or possibly white depending on which side of the connector you are looking at) on the black flat connector (C211 A8).

After reading this thread I am even more confused. I have an 01 ZR2 that I would like to disable the daytime running lamps and have quadbeams, while still retaining flash to pass.

One question, quadbeams are only all four when the brights are on?

Thanks.

The wiring for the ZR2 is different. The DRLs are on the low beam lights and it puts them on full power.

Quadbeam == having both the high and low beam bulbs illuminated when the dimmer switch is in the high beam position.

DRL is a PITA on these. On the ZR2 models there is a relay under the carpet, taped to the wiring harness. You have to cut the CENTER YELLOW wire to kill them. The relay under the hood trick doesnt work. It is further under than you think. Its about where the floor flatten out.

Can you just ground out the low beam on a s series like cr8390 did or will that cause other problems?

What connector are you talking about? If you are talking about C211, it is the main connector under the steering column. Same location as the GMT360/370 trucks.

If you have an s-series Trailblazer trimmed Blazer, then the method described in the original post will work. As well as the method I posted above in my edit.

Also, please edit your post to include additional information. Rules are rules.
