Isn't there any kind of heat problem with both bulbs on?? Seems they'd blow out faster with this mod. Has anyone noticed this happen?

on my 99 zr2 all I did was run the yellow wire at the drivers side low beam to a ground. I have noticed no extra heat issues my self, the high beams and low beams are separated off from each other for the most part, so I don't think heat is really an issue here.

teh bulbs are in seaparate 'chmbers' of teh lense. Heat should not be an issue. My daughter has been running them for 4 years... same bulbs

hi beam
Do yourself a favor and go back in and solder the wires together and get rid of that Blue Insulation displacement type connector. Those things are 'make it easy' band=aids that will fail in a year or two.

Ahh I should have read further.. It crapped out already. Those Blue splice connectors are junk but your Stick the bare wire under a rusty bolt is not good either. Take the bolt out, sand the sheet metal , put a ring lug on your green wire and relax knowing you did the job correctly.

Blue splice connectors junk?? Uh oh. And I was wanting to use some. Can other people please chime in with their opinion/tips on using those things?

I agree, those splice connectors are garbage and I would not trust them. It is pretty easy to cut a little of the shielding away and solder another wire in than shrink tube or tape it after. Solder is always a much better way to do it, I don't really like any type of crimp connector.
