Wow... That thing looks massive. From behind all you can see is tire!

That looks good. On my old wrangler I had a 38" spare. Backing up your wait for the crunch. lol. Definitely looking forward to this mod, if only I can find a tire carrier around here...

Does any body know what tools you need to remove the tire rack from the donor. I'm going to pull a part junk yard this weekend and have to bring my own tools.

I'm pretty sure it's a T50 torx to pull the carrier hinges. The latch plate is torx as well, I think it was a T25, but I can remember for sure. If there is a tire on the carrier it probably has the wheel lock on it still, but if you don't have a key, a hammer and smaller chisel makes quick work of the wheel lock.

I forgot to post the pics of the support brackets from the 2 door. These are in behind the sheet metal:

I cut them to look like this:

Cool. What did you have to do to get those braces behind the sheet metal?

Sweet. How much did you have to chop on your own to get them in position?

The holes are about 3"+ square. The holes could have been smaller, but I couldn't find a smaller hole saw in my set that still had teeth. I used SikaFlex to adhere and seal them to the inside of the sheet metal
