Just curious, have any of you guys found a good way to install a sub or subs in a gen1 that dont require a big honkin box taking up all my cargo space. Already have Kicker 650's in the doors and 460's in the dash. No amp or sub yet because I want to "hide" em.

Stealth boxs are about the only prefabbed thing. Hard to find now but you might get a hold of one. You could always custom build one. Thats what I'm gonna do in my Silverado.

Looking around for my 4x6's and 6x9's here is what I found that seems good for my needs.

Also an installer that contacted me and was giving me some advice told me that I should use my

to push the 4x6's and 6x9's and to get another amp to push the subs I get.

What do you folks think?

Those seem to be good speakers. Never had expeience with Pyle but never heard anything bad. Amount the speakers with that amp is a good idea. It's night and day between amped and un-amped. So if your going that way, pair up a sub and amp combo that best fits your needs. Rms wattage is all your worried about.

Well after reading the reviews and some advice I have gooten from people on here and otherwise 10's seem to be what will give me the nice clean bass im after. I figure I will go with the aftermarket speakers mentioned in the post above followed with these.

what do you guys think?

Also i hear talk of using a spare battery for the amps.. Is this really necessary?

No for that low of power. I was running about 2500 watts with stock battery and alt. Not the best idea but it held up and I've had no problems.

Those sub seem alright. Small magnet which makes me think its 800 watts max between the 2. That would make each around 200 RMS. That box will take up most of the room back there. I have an MTX built box and I have 6 inches on either side and about a foot front to back. It sits pretty much level with the windows. I don't know about 1st gen but I assume they are roughly the same.
