Yeah, in the name of money saving, I used cheap carpet and cheap spray glue haha. Not my brightest moment lol. As for the subs I'm looking at, I think I've got it narrowed down to three:
Sony Xplod XS-GTX120LW
Pioneer TS-W303R
Pioneer TS-W307D4

Those are just what I've found that won't break my wallet lol. Feel free to give any suggestion for a sub though, I don't know too much about which ones are good, and which are bad.

I'd look at getting an infinity... I'd never get the sony, and pioneers are ok. I had a little 10" infinity that thing had some punch for only being 200 watts

Don't worry about it on the carpet, a person's gotta learn somehow. It really doesn't look all that bad in the pics at all.

What's your budget for the new sub and what amp are you running? Those two answers will be the quidelines to recommend by. I can recommend tons of subs, there's probably thousands to choose from, but it's easier to narrow it down to a small list with a little more info and I figure the budget is the biggest factor for you. I agree with the others, forget the Sony. Sony has had a few hits over the years, but in general anything they offer is below substandard. Pioneer is kind of like the old hold out, it works and generally works just fine but there's better out there for close to the same money. The Infinity suggestion is a good one, hard to go bad with any of their subs. If you'd like a more complete list though, let us know exactly what you're looking to spend on one and we'll get some suggestions going for ya.

I have a 550 watt Scosche amp right now. I'd like to try and find a decent sub for under $100 if at all possible.

Well... $100 isn't much to work with but here's a quick list of subs that I would consider if I was doing a build for someone with your amp and the same budget. Here -> http://www.sonicelectronix.com/compa...id[]=25596

Otherwise if you were willing to expand your budget a little bit you can get an Incriminator Audio 187 12" for $109, an SSA DCON 12" for $125, or a Fi X 12" for $119. All of which are GREAT subs with the SSA and Fi subs being hand built right here in the USA for sure, I think the Incriminator is as well. One of those three would be my first picks if you could swing a few extra dollars.

Wow, thats a great list, thanks! I'll start looking them over and try and figure out which one I'm gonna get. Hopefully I'll be able to afford a new one early this summer.

Ha, the SR 12" is just a bit out of my price range. I think I may go with the Infinity Reference 1262W.
