How are your Fi woofers? I've been looking at those and the RE SeXXX woofers I believe they're called. Not sure what direction I want to go yet. I was wanting to get some of the PPI flat piston 12's, but that deal fell thru, so, it's time to look elsewhere.

I love the Fi Q's. Definitely the best subwoofer I've ever owned or used. Extremely accurate yet brutally forceful sound, they're downright awesome! The RE Audio woofers aren't what they used to be. Scott Atwell, the man who used to own RE Audio is the driving force behind Ascendant Audio and Fi. Since the sale, RE has changed the way the woofers are built, among other changes. If you got the money, you won't go wrong with Fi. Not to mention AA, SSA and even Sundown makes some mean subs as well.

I couldn't imagine an 18 BTL in a Jimmy, let alone two of them!!! I used to know a guy who had four 15" Rockford's on 4kw of old school US Amps power in the bed of an S10 with a shell on it. Couldn't sit in the damn thing, and it tore the shell to bits. I simply can't imagine two 18's in a smaller space.

OK so I was gonna get a RE sex12d4... but I'm wondering about this... https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraud...iew.shopscript

I know I'd need a dual 1 ohm but I have no clue what the other options are/mean?

If you're going to go with any RE sub do not get one that has an "X" in the name, SR-X. SE-X. SX-X.. the new ones aren't built anywhere near what they were..

I'll have a new build log here soon enough, or atleast pictures. Going with 4 sundown SA-8s off of a SAZ2500d, as soon as I get the electrical to run that.

Thanks man, the van build is definitely my favorite so far. I don't have but a couple pics of the speakers in the van left over. They were installed a few years ago and surprisingly enough they're still going very strong. They're all installed in the stock locations. I couldn't figure out a good way to get them out from behind the door panel at the time that would look really good. I have a few idea's now, along with better fiberglassing skills, but I think I'm going to wait until I go to upgrade the components before I do anything to it in that manner. As far as the Jimmy goes there's nothing hopeful there. All the equipment AND parts required to install it are already in my possession. It's just a matter of getting the free time to throw at it.

Both the front and rear doors are deadened with RaamMat and the mids are mounted in custom built MDF baffles.

Here's the front passenger door and components on that side. The crossovers are mounted underneath the front seats.

Here's the back hatch door.

I've long since lost the pictures I took of the installation unfortunately. However, when I go to redo everything with new components I'll have a ton of them!

I'll look into the Fi woofers more. I'm bouncing back and forth between 12's and 15's. Just not sure which ones I want yet.

My brother used to have 6 Rockford 15's in his 98 Civic hatchback, that was nuts, he had them running off 3 Kicker Impulse 2252ix's. I was also looking at the Boston Acoustic G5 woofers, he has 2 and they're very loud.

After running the Q's I would recommend the Fi subs over alot of things, including Boston Acoustics any day. Nothing wrong with BA, but it's so hard to beat the support and customer service that comes along with the Fi purchase. Not to mention they're completely hand built right here in the good 'ol U S of A.

For you, I'd recommend starting out with the BL series. Very strong and loud performers that still sound amazing. As far as the choice between 12's or 15's, it really only comes down to your budget and how much space you're willing to give up in the rear of your truck. If money and space is no object, multiple 15" BL's will kill with a properly built enclosure and the power to back it up, and by power I mean the amps and the electrical to run them with.
