Default head unit fit?

Will a pioneer head unit and adapter kit from a 2001 s10 pick-up be a direct bolt in to a 1997 blazer?

The deck will fit no problems, but you NEED the 97 install kit. The 97 has the plate that interlocks with the HVAC controls. No way around it, unless you change your dash to 98+

Yah I can attest to the 97 needing a differnt install kit, You have to remove the hvac controls to get the old deck out and put it back in after putting the new one in.
