as it turns out there is a double din dash kit available for trucks with the same dash layout as i have which just happens to be a dealer only kit so i had taken it to a local shop to get it installed

hmm, my local guy said "they don't make one for your truck, sorry". I'm thinking he was misinformed... You wouldn't happen to know any details about the install kit would you? same dash as mine.

im not really sure on the brand dash kit but what i saw on the packaging it said for 95-97 gm small truck din/ddin kit. the dash kit fits perfectly everything lines up with the climate controls and there is no gaps and no bezel trimming so im not really sure where my local guy got it.

Looks like the double din I picked up recently. I work at a RadioShack and was going through our Metra book one day and stumbled across it. Metra Online I haven't installed it yet though, probably won't get around to it until this summer. Glad to see it looks/fits nicely.
