My antenna broke :(
...as the title states, my antenna snapped off at the base My 2002 always had problems with the stock mast antenna. It would always come loose, and I would notice it when I was driving. A quick tighten, and it would be fine for a month or so...but, this summer I tightened it, and it was fine, until yesteday morning, after a snow storm.
I went out to my car, and the antenna was snapped clear off the base, just sitting angled on my hood. I ruled out foul play The end is still stuck in the part that is in my fender. I HAVE NO ANTENNA, and have no idea on how to fix it. I would investigate myself, but it is windy, and sub zero outside with the windchill. Im afraid any fix I have right now would be the wrong one. I can go to a junkyard, and buy a different mast, no problem; but my question is...
How do I go about removing the base from my fender?
If I cannot, any thoughts on how to remove/back out the nub of my mast out of the bases threads?
I would love to have some ideas to brainstorm, before going into the storm.

i have only done an antennae on one car and it was my buddy's explorer. There is a bolt on the antennae in the inner fender that holds in down. i believe its the same with our trucks but i've never really looked hard.
