i have found that kenwood is a good product i have had it in every truck i own and it is grate and if any one is thinking a bout geting a pioner speker dont they do not hold up and they do not put out any sound if you want to upgrade it is the best idea to just put down the money and get a good brand speker it is worth it
I agree that its always best to spend the money on a quality product the first time around. But regarding Pioneer, they seem to hold up reasonably well.

I have an older pair of 3-way 6.5" pioneers. I think they were 30W RMS and I've been running them off an amp that puts out ~75W RMS. They've held up just fine so far but I am planning on replacing them fairly soon...

So with that being said, do think I will have a decent set up?
I listened to the pioneer 3 ways and the kenwood 3 ways and i think the pioneers put out more wattage but the sound clarity was hands down the kenwood. So basically the pioneers louder, the kenwood will have clearer highs and mids. thats at least what ive realized from hearing the 2 6.5 speakers side by side.

Kenwood is an excellent sub/ speaker for any car i ran a 350 watt amp to a kenwood 10" that i bought at best buy for $90 and it hits nice and clean no distortion. For the sub box make sure you get a vented box and definitly not a ported/ bandpass box!

Alright I have the 4 kenwood 6.5" speakers in, im waiting on the JL 10" sub and 400 watt amp, then I just bought a alpine hu. I started looking around and most the new ones dont have cd player, its all digital. So I found a nice alpine for 169 and hopefully ill have a good sound. I wanted to keep the factory hu for a factory look but id admigine a much better sound wiht an aftermarket one not to mention having a place to plug my sub wire without buying one of those converters. For a side note the Kenwood speakers have great highs and mids but the bass is extremely weak. The factory bass was much more but this was expected, speakers usually dont produce the primary the bass anyways.
anyways thanks guys.
