Question Rewiring the radio?

I replaced the stock radio with an aftermarket one about 2 years ago. A couple weeks ago the radio wasnt working so I went to pull the fuse, and the brass inserts that hold the fuse in the box, came out with the fuse. Now, do I have to get a new fuse box and unplug, and replug everything? Or is there a way I can rewire the radio to get it working like usual?

Before you do ANYTHING you need to figure out what is wrong electrically that caused that issue. There had to have been some major heat to do what you described which means there's an issue somewhere. I've seen bad connections cause similar issues with fuse holders for amplifier power wires. The bad connection has resistance which causes heat as current flows through it and it sounds like a similar problem.

One fairly quick solution would be to identify the wire the fuse was feeding, cut it right at the fuse block and tap it into a spare location if there is one. If there's not there's several ways a person could hook that back up to power at another point without having to rewire, or install a new fuse block and wiring.

Not of that matter though until you make certain you don't have other issues, or next time, instead of an issue with the fuse you could end up with a nice vehicle engulfing fire.

it is possible the brass just broke , look for signs of melting around it
Chances are if the holder terminal broke off the wire on the back side is now hanging loose
Was it the hot side of the fuse or the load side that broke ?

It never got hot. And with as much wiring there is under the dash, i cant seem to follow the wires to find out which is blown
