I had the 791XV on my old Lumina...
Watch out for randomly un-programming remotes, lol.
At least if you've got the older, white remote...

I couldn't get the programming to work on a 97 Jimmy....I tried both turning the key from off CCW towards me and CW away from me twice....

Hillbilly, When I did that the led flashed 6 times and kept repeating that until I started the truck when I shutthe truck off and armed the system it was still flashing 4 times.
DrPerry, I don't have a white remote I have the blue one with display and four buttons.

i think you have some things going unprogrammed. 4 flashes means the shock sensor and 6 means you have a loose wire in a 6 pin harness. the wire is the hoodpin switch.

I believe my shock sensor isn't working( hasn't for a while now) Just never flashed any more than normal. As for the 6 flashes being a loose wire, Why would it come up now. I tried the hood pin and it works just fine.

I had the hood open and I held down the hoodpin then remote started the truck and let go of the pin and it shut off. Same to check the alarm let go of the pin and the alarm went off. What unit would you be speaking of?? I can't understand why they would pop up noew either since I had no problems till I did this. But man Does it ever feel good to not be locked in my truck anymore!!!!!
