1998 4x4 Build
After being down on my luck with the 4.3 that is already in the truck, I have decided to build a beast out of the Blazer. I plan on swapping the 4.3 for a 5.3 Vortec.. I plan on keeping the 4L60E and the 4x4. I am gonna do away with the push button for the 4x4 and make it manual. After it's driving again, I'm gonna do a 3"+ suspension lift, Iroc Camaro wheels with 33" tires, either Terra Grapplers or Mud Grapplers, full brush guard with lights, and a safari rack with lights and a spare tire mount.
I need to save the money, but I found a few wrecked 99-06 Z71 trucks that people are selling the 5.3 motors out of for around $550-$700 bucks, I'm gonna do the motor first then move on to the lift and such.
In the meantime, I'm gonna try to get the 4.3 running good again so when I pull that motor I can get some money back for the 5.3. The 4.3 is in bad shape: lifters, oil pump, a slight knock that needs to be figured out. Ugh.
I'll post updates as I go along.

Well I guess I won't be putting a 5.3 in the Blazer. Decided to go an easier route and just completely rebuild the 4.3, but with a little more muscle. Cam, headers, cold air intake, etc. All I need right now is an engine crane and stand. When I pull the motor and start rebuilding it I'll start uploading pics. Thinking about rebuilding the tranny also.....
