Finally got the driver side leaf out and replaced. Here are some pics of it removed and the new one going in. I also installed the new rear superlift shock, and it rides even better. I will post the pics of the completed job tomorrow.

I grinded down all the parts to get the cancer off and repainted everything before remounting. The bolts holding the leaf springs on were miserable. They had seized and even with a 10lb hammer, I couldnt hammer them out. I ended up having to use a sawzaw and a grinder to get them out. Both were invaluable, but when you are cutting grade 8 steel bolts, it chews threw blades and disks like crazy. It is also terrifying throwing sparks next to the gas tank.

Default P0305 Cylinder 5 misfire

Just had a P0305 Cylinder 5 misfire while on the freeway. I noticed around 55 it seems a little jumpy and the throttle wasn't consistent. Then the Engine light came on with that code. Replaced the cap and rotor $55 at Autozone with a 5 year warranty and it has gone away. I should probably look at doing the plugs and wires soon as well. They look fairly new, maybe the guy who owned it before just went cheap on the cap and rotor.

Default Extended rear sway bar Done

Just got the extended rear sway bar done. Cut the original links in half and then welded a 11in steel pipe in between to extend it. I haven't seen how the sway went originally on here so I put it on how I thought it should. It looks low to me, if it is wrong can someone take a pic of theirs and share? I use a prothane bushing set since I couldnt find an energy set. They are probably made of the same stuff anyway. Cant wait to drive it tomorrow and see how it rides.

The alternator started to squak last night... looks like I will be doing the AD244 conversion. This topic seems to have the most info for it How To: High Output AD244 Alternator for ~$80 - S-10 Forum

And here she is! Yay, the lights don't dim at low idle anymore. These are underrated at 145amps.. Everyone who has tested one gets near 200. I just got the 145am reman from a 2003 escallade at Autozone with a lifetime warranty.

Also the belt I got from Autozone is the Dayco 5060960 it is an inch longer than the stock one, which you will need if you run the bigger alternator.

If you don't mind me asking, what does a reman. alternator upgrade from autozone run? I can't seem to find anything alternator wise at the local yards.
