Default 89 Silverado Getting a HUGE face lift

So I have decided to do a complete restore of my 89 Silverado. Here are the current specs: 5.7L TBI, Single Cab, Short Box, 4x4 5 speed. Pretty basic truck. Changes to be made : New Cab, Box, fenders, hood, and interior. The cab is from a 95 GMC Sierra Single cab Short stepside box. This is going to be a very fun and interesting swap. New gauge cluster, steering column, and a competely different interior. Going from bench seats to sport buckets with a console and ....Yay! cupholders, no more burning my nuts with coffee in the morning. The new cab came from an automatic, so there is going to be some slight modifications, but the most exciting part is that I get to cut my truck apart. Literally! i have always wanted to cut a vehicle apart and now is my opportunity. So alot of you will probably wonder.....why not just buy a new truck instead of going through all this..... Here is my anwser. Because I can... But on a more serious note. My current body is rotting away, Buffalo is not nice in the winter-time with all the salt and what not. However my frame is very very solid and will only need minor reconditioning. The donor truck had a impeccably perfect body, no cab corner rot, well no rot on the body what so ever. But the frame on the donor truck was absolutely disgusting. It was a cash 4 clunkers vehicle, so the engine was shot but the body was perfect and getting a whole new body for only 125 bucks is definately worth the down time and work to put in. I love my truck and will love it so much more when its done. So now on to the pictures

The dually rear end is still in the brainstorming stage, I am trying to figure out a way to do it without sacrificing the width, thinking about maybe some shorter axles to make it work, but not sure yet. I really want a dually rear end in my truck but not quite sure how to approach it. I have access to one and will definitely try it when we get to that point.

Why a dually? Strength or just for looks?

The dually rear end would be for both. i love the look of a dually, especially on an older chevy short cab. i am trying to figure out the exact way to do it, may have to chop an axle down (not the way I would prefer) but none the less I really think that it would just look so nice to have a lifted single cab short stepside with a dually rear end. it would be different as well, which is the main thing that I am aiming for. i want my truck to stand out from the rest, ya know?
