In other news, I have managed to get a free brand new (not rebuilt) 4L60E GM tranny for the '95 2wd blazer, which has been acting up for some time, and engine (it knocks but can be rebuilt) for my '97 here! Friend of mine has a van I'm pulling them out of. Tired of seeing it sit he said.

Looks like it is coming along nicely. i just did two of my body mounts yesterday. I'm glad i did. the bolts that came out were as thin as a pencil in the middle. It might not be a bad idea to check yours. I actually went to the local salvage yard that has a few blazers and took a couple bolts and washers out of a donor blazer that looked just like mine minus the rims.

I will be doing at least 2 more in the very near future. here are some pics. The first one is the body bolts. the second one is the blazer i got the new bolts and washers off of. the third one is my blazer as it is now. The fourth is a jimmy in that yard that i think we should all have a brief moment of silence for.

Appreciate it man. Hopefully there won't be too much more repairing and more modifications.

That paint is clean! Looking good! That's actually a good idea, something I wouldn't think too much of just living in South GA. This thing has obviously seen a good amount of mud, so there's no telling. I will check them out tomorrow for sure.

Unfortunately there's one more Blazer shot out of existence, but fortunately there's one more parts car to bring another to life!

I've spent the time tonight "fixing" my center console. Since it is so hard to find one anywhere in beige and in good condition. I will get some pics up in a sec and we'll see how it goes once it's finshed, lol.

I will also be doing a review on this OBDII connector and software. I figured $9.99 may as well try. It's one part of a system I want to run in order to have on board diagnostics in the vehicle.

OBDII scanner ELM 327 car diagnostic interface scan tool ELM327 USB supports all OBD-II protocols-Newegg.com

I plan on buying a cheap/used touchscreen laptop and separating the screen and CPU. I can bring out the soldering iron and find a way to incorporate the screen into the overhead console while putting the CPU in a more descrete yet easily accesible location (which I have no idea where yet), running a couple fans to it for cooling. That way if you have a check engine light you can test it immediately, or if no code is thrown and it is running a little funny you have access to live data immediately. It's something I was going to do in an old Jeep before I had to sell it.

So that I wouldn't crowd up my own thread, I've posted the pictures down below. I used the clear plastic from an old screw box since I've got a large wall mount bin for the garage now. It doesn't really matter how it looks or what color being as no one will see it. And I can live with knowing it's there as long as it stops all the noise.

That is actually a really interesting idea. I never have thought of that. Keep us posted because I'm sure there are a lot of members that would like to see that idea come to life.

I tell you what.. just my luck.

Also replaced the front calipers today. They were both locking up to the point of smoking my brand new brakes while driving more than a mile. They as well lead to my master cylinder failure, which will be replaced tomorrow. In due time.. the fun part will come.

I had cut down a back road on my way to work. I was pushing about 70mph. The tire slapped my fender and scuffed it up pretty bad, busted the corner of my bumper off. Luckily I was able to steer it from the ditch.

But, I did buy some 29" tires yesterday. Not new, but close enough.
