I'm good. Thankfully it happened just after unloading the camper, while turning around to back into the driveway... going a whole 5km/h lol... the stud snapped.

my job today, other then being at work, is to find a place that will order the set off ball joint rc says I'm supposed to have, and the set I found that fit so I can compare. I might just order a cheap brand to last until I have complete CA assemblies from RC.

You truly have your troubles with that blazer. I'd take back the curse but wasn't me that hexed it in first place. Just be glad your not down here, been under heat advisory so long I forgot was cool was like. Working on anything outside / in garage is unbearable with these heat index's around 100f everyday. Heck my garage been around 105 without factoring humidity in.

Shes pushing her luck with me that's for sure lol. I'm at the parts store now, and with my side by side comparison, I do not have the k6540 ball joints, but for some reason I have the k6696. So 2 more new ones, just gotta finish my day at work and head home to do the truck... fingers crossed it doesnt get too hot, luckily I'm 1 min away from a creek if it does get overwhelming lol.

Strange! When I did my upper ball joints on my RC upper control arms they were the Moog K6540s. What I noticed was that there was no room for the snap ring to keep them in but they pressed in pretty snuggly! n

We are getting to about 100 here in the inland Pacific Northwest (read behind the rain shadow of the Cascade mountatins). But at least it is not also humid and as such does cool down a bit at night. I spent a couple years in northern Indiana that I think had the worst of the summer and winter weather; Hot muggy summers with tornadoes, and winters down to -10' F and constant wind.

So as I was at the parts store, the owner was the one who helped me, Very nice guy. He brought out both for me to compare.

again the k6540 was too small, and the k6696 was the right one(both moog products). He went on to tell me that moog has moved their operations to china, which led him away from dealing with them, and has been dealing with mevotech. I have had good luck with their parts on many different vehicles, so I decided to go with them, but to the "upgraded oem" selection, which they are supposed to have found and felt with all OEM issues.

he cut me a deal of 30$ each, which save me a bunch, and now I have these to install.

Can you tell us in what way they were too small? Wrong diameter for the part that is pressed in? Wrong height for the part that is pressed in? Wrong length stud?

So the diameter was about 1/4 smaller on the k6540, and the k6696 fit like a glove, but the stud is about 3/16 longer. These are my options at the moment, and I am currently pricing how much they will send me just the CA and a set of ball joints(from rough country). As it's my dd and trailer puller, cant wait for parts from Cali...

Geez Don, really glad it happened in the yard. Very curious on these ball joints as I have recently done the RC lift myself. I’m watching, lol

Omg lol I was gonna suggest getting the mevotech ttx I switched to them last year and I had to replace them this year but only cause I tore the crap out of the boots not a single thing wrong with them and when I took them out water poured out cause of the torn boots. No play in them nothing. So I replaced with new ttx uppers and lowers loved them and so far much stronger then the moog when threw a set of moog in 6 months
