Wheels look good. I like it.

Just wondering where you got the info about those being the same size as 31's? The conversion works out to the equivalent of a 32" tall tire. (31.7x10r17) So they should be about 1" taller than a 31.

The conversion calculator I used (can't remember the link ATM) gave the conversion as 31.4x10x17. Either way, the calculator gives the difference as less than an inch between the two sizes. I realize that tires vary up to a good inch either way of their stated size, but these 265/70/17's are more than an inch taller than my 31x10.5's with significantly less tread. If they were both new tires, I'd guess that the 265/70/17 would be closer to 2" bigger. Anyways, my point was there's more difference between the two sizes that one might initially think. I just wanted to make sure that anyone wanting to try something like this knows what they're getting into.

Ok, just curious.

Just for informations sake and to help out futue readers, a lot of tire manufacturers list the actual Tire O.D. on there websites (ie. my 33x10.5r15 KM2's are actually 32.74" brand new). So a little research on specific tires would help if you are trying to figure out fitment issues and comparing sizes and even brands.

That's good to know. I've never come across a manufacturer advertising actual tire height, but I've never gone looking for the info either. I tend to use the "put it on, then break out the hammer & saw" method of fitment, with a judicial amount of online forum research first.

lol that works too.

Just did some quick research, your AT's new measured 30.7" w/ tread depth of 16/32"

The Nitto's new, measured 31.57" w/ tread depth of 13.6/32"

Sorry, I missed your reply. I still have the brush guard, but the weather and lack of time have prevented me from getting it mounted up.

Right now the Blazer is a commuter travelling to work and back every day, and almost nothing else at the moment. I'm hoping to have more time in April to get a few more things done. I'd really like to get the brush guard mounted and I'd also like to coat my rocker panels with bedliner this spring.

Well, I have had esentially zero progress on the Blazer since the fall, other than trimming my front fender's somewhat to fit the 265/70/17's. Here's a pic of how it sits right now:

It has a couple of rust spots at the bottoms of the doors, but I'm planning on fixing that and then covering all the silver area with bedliner this spring.

Here's another pic beside a stock Blazer:

Thanks! I'm planning on starting the next phase this spring which will include finally getting my ZR2 t-bars intalled, cleaning up and painting my frame, painting and installing my brush guard, installing receiver tubes to replace the front tow hooks, replacing leaky remote oil lines, and cleaning up some body rust and doing bedliner on the rocker panels.

Lots of small stuff at this point. I'm planning on a trip in the summer where I want to spend a few days off-roading and camping so I need to get it ready by then.
