Some custom bumpers and you'll be lookin' REAL fancy Rex! VERY impressed with how far this build has come since I began following so long ago!

Thanks man! Bumpers will happen for sure and I'll probably go opposite of most and start with the rear first and then do the front. I can happily say that as of yesterday my wife is once again employed which she hasn't been since the end of January! She's starting out making $20k more than she was at her last job and my boss just gave me another $5k a year "to keep me happy" in his words lol! So now we can get back to having some money in the bank again. I've already started looking for a motor

I plan to do a 5.3 with a mild cam and decent heads. Ideally I'm hoping to find a motor and trans/transfer case all together since my trans won't be able to deal the additional power.

Finding deals is all about knowing what you want and what your willing to spend on it and then just using persistence and extreme patience till you find the right deal. I've missed a lot of really good deals because I didn't have the money when they popped up so now I have learned to keep about $500 cash in $100 bills hidden away in my wallet incase a good deal pops up so I'm ready to strike right away. Plus I lowball the crap outta people and the usually bite when you have cash in their face lol! I'll get the sig pic changed once I have my new tires on and get a decent shot of it

Yeah it's been really tight for us the last 6 months especially. I was only able to save $20-30 a week by eating cheap for lunch and skipping a soda or two lol. I'm just happy that we will be able to get some money back in the bank for a cushion.

Just steer clear of any '09 5.3's - guys were coming right off the showroom floor back then burning a quart every 200 miles. The ones that didn't grenaded in spectacular fashion. GM has really been sucking the last 7 years.

I've got 70k on my '07 NBS Silverado, 5.3 - I'm just waiting for that one to grenade. Every time I tow it pings so bad it makes me cringe. Have to run premium in the damn thing. Nothing done to it except a Corsa cat back, K&N CAI, & a Hypertech program. It runs great and all ... but reading all the horror stories on the net has me a little worried.

Thanks for the heads up! I was planning to look for something in the 00-05' range just because they can be had pretty cheap and they are well established as a reliable motor with plenty of aftermarket support.
