I gotta get my gears installed. I'm going to try and knock out the 14b next week since I can't drive it till I drain the rear anyway so may as well do it all at once and then after seeing how that goes decide whether or not I'll be paying someone to do the front lol!

I'm sure I will end up doing them just because I don't like to pay people for what I can do myself but my time will be more limited in the coming months so I will just have to see how things go for now.

All of the bearings seem to be in really good shape on the carrier so I won't have to replace those. I stopped at a buddy's shop on my way home to have him zip the pinion nut off for me so tomorrow I'll finish pulling that apart and see if I can reuse the outer bearing. I think I'll replace the inner just because for $25 it seems like less hassle to me! If my crush sleeve eliminator comes tomorrow I should be able to put this thing back together if not then it will be Wednesday.
It's a damn good thing I didn't try to drive this thing anywhere tho after sitting in the river! Had about a half gallon if water come out when I cracked the cover open and then this lol

Yeah it was nasty! It's almost ready to go back together now tho. I replaced both bearings on the pinion just for good measure and and my crush sleeve eliminator came today as well so now all I have to do (in theory) is set my preload, put the pinion housing back in the axle and reinstall the carrier and set up my gears. Hope all goes well for me lol!

I also decided to treat myself to this today while I was at Home Depot lol!

It's nice to have for sure! It will make trips to the junk yard much more pleasurable that's for sure not to mention just general maintenance that requires removal of wheels and things. I've been wanting one for a lonnnngggg time but haven't because of cost but when I saw this one was just the impact and it would work with my batteries I couldn't pass it up.
