Well, she had to go sometime. Almost made 300,000. Blew up the original motor, knocking now. Think the tranny may even have actually overheated and need rebuild. 2nd to 3rd band seems gone. All at the same time after the mechanic worked on it because of an overheating problem, heads checked and put back together. Wish now I had done it, but I' handicapped and have problems with heavy work. I used to know what I was doing, but this is a 95 and a stand alone (it seems) in the fleet. I do however own a large compressor and hoist and have done a great deal of work in the past.

My main question is this. I am told that I cannot interchange a later year engine to this truck. Not even if I have a complete engine and transmission with harness and computer pulled from 96 up. I am beyond comprehension. What will not work, fuel lines I can see. ABS related; what?
