Eventually I'll be running a winch, power inverter, e fan, leds on all 4 sides of the roof, and indash media center with an amp/ subwoofer. I will probably be doing on board air with a small electric compressor. I also plan to keep one of those stick welders that connects to your battery for emergencies.
I've found a few charts that all say 15- 20 ft of cable @ 200-250a calls for 4/0 cable- from my understanding it would only have to be the power wire from alternator to my junction block at that size.
I'm not going to lie, I'm not super advanced when it comes to electricity, but that's what my research has shown...I'm definitely open to suggestions and more knowledge l, so any advice would be appreciated
Got my ubolt style rear pinion yoke on today. Changing it was a breeze, I was surprised it went so smooth. The thing seems way beefier than stock, and the u bolts are much easier to install than the strap style clamps.
Won' take long for it to get all muddy lol... I like the looks of the u bolts
Yeah...3 weeks from now I'll be taking it out for an event and it'll be covered again lol.
As far as my battery cable gauge questions go, I've found a bunch of conflicting information. Stateing anywhere from 1 gauge is good enough, to I'll need 4/0 wire. But after looking at a ton of charts and more reading, I found this chart, which seems to accurately reflect the most common numbers to pop up. So as far as I am concerned, this chart is what I'm going by:

Aside from that, my alternator is at the shop being rebuilt. I've also started rebuilding the one section of my front driveshaft so it doesn't pop apart on me again.
I'm making the outer sleeve 3.5" longer so it doesn't blow apart on me if my front end starts hopping again(I'm staying the hell off the tugg pad though so that shouldn't be an issue lol)
You can see how bent up the old shaft is from blowing apart while spinning. Crazy it twisted up the 1/4 inch steel like that.
I also removed my vac. Switch off my t-case case, plugged the 2 vacuumn ports, and reinstalled it with a vent tube on the vent port of it(routed it up to the top of the firewall to keep it clean and dry)
For some reason I thought I had torqued my rocker arms in an incorrect procedure, so I went back and checked them all- they were all good, apparently I did it correctly the first time. But better safe than sorry. I did benefit from doing that though... when I went to put my airbox back in, I heard rattling so I pulled it apart and this is what I found on top of the air filter....
Scary ****. I'm glad I found it before it all got sucked into my intake... hopefully none of it made its way into the engine.. I've never seen something like that happen before..
Yep that's what it is.. I can't for the life of me figure out how.
My first thought was a mouse got in there, but there's no signs of mice, and no way a mouse could have gotten on the upper side of the air filter without chewing a noticeable hole in something else.
It must have been vibration and shock from taking the air box assembly in and out often to work on the engine or something... Just seems crazy that it shreaded like that. It didn't even damage the little sensor wires in the MAF though, so I feel pretty confident that nothing significant sucked through.
In somewhat blazer-related news, I picked up a hauler for the blazer over the weekend.
