Hmm...that sucks. I don't know if I would mess around with those. I know you have to solder all the 12v lights, but I don't think they're on a circuit board.

Well I got a few more things done today to the truck. I ran into some time constraints though, so I won't be painting the rims this weekend. Next weekend for sure..

I smoke my front corners and tails. They look AMAZING on the truck!! I didn't bother to clear them either, but I think it looks damn good without it.

Taped off my reverse lights (so I can see when I'm backing up lol) and my fogs:

After the first coat:

While I had the lights off I took the opportunity to put some undercoating on my brush guards. I think they turned out really good and look awesome with the texture on it.

In progress:

And the best part...the finished product

BTW - I tore the cherry bomb sticker off after this pic. It was standing out like a sore thumb on the back of the truck...everything else blends so nicely now. It's either black, blue or white.

I will take some better pics soon...I just snapped these quick with my cell.

Also, as promised...here are some pics of the air filter/CAI installed:

I'm thinking I'll end up building a box for it since it's resting very close to the oil cooler line.
Next on the build list:

-Black rims (next weekend)
-Hopefully picking up some cheap roof lights (they're on sale at a shop here). I haven't decided for sure on it, but they're only $10/ea so I can't really go wrong.

Comments?

I'd like to get a safari rack, but I think I'm just going to drill through my existing roof rack bar and put them on that.
I think I will end up putting a heat shield on (i mentioned it below the CAI pics)..it's resting really close to the oil cooler line and I think it may start to damage the filter if I don't

Go to a salvage yard and get a spare roof rack bar. it will set you back all of $4, you can drill the crap out of it, and when you get your safari rack, roof basket, command center, etc you will still have the full strength of the existing rack to support it.

Hell, get 2 and mount some cheapy Walmart Lights for auxiliary reverse lights!

BONUS: you can run lights on the front rack, and still use the rear 2 to carry things (if you are so inclined)

Thanks for the tips ABN. I was actually just discussing it with my buddy that has a Blazer too, and he offered me his roof bars, so looks like I might be doing what you suggest. I never carry stuff on my roof anyway, and it will bea long time before I get a safari roof rack (planning on a brush guard first) so i don't see it being much of a problem.

Looks nice.

The only problem i have with the idea of mounting lights on the stock bars is that they tend to have a curved look to them. Have you noticed this?

You're right...There is a bit of a curve to the stock roof rack bars. I would probably only be starting with 2 though, so it wouldn't be really noticeable. And if there is that much of a curve I'm sure you could add spacers with some washers or something along the likes to make them level.
