Got back from magnetawan on Thursday night, and went to man mall on Friday. Picked up what I could to get the truck on the road. Well I wasnt happy with it, and still had to find a hood. So went to a different yard saturday morning, and came home with a final product. The wife just needs to pick up a set of fog lights so I can hook those back up, shes good for now.

Not so happy with gmc bumper and chevy lights...

Much better

I was walking around the truck today at work, not sure I didnt notice this before.... but the front brakes are from the earlier 2nd gens..............

EDIT 03/2021: front brakes are stock 2002, they put single piston front brakes on the zq8 package for some reason, shpuldve put the double piston for the sports package as it wouldve suited.....
END EDIT

making me really wonder about this truck now... and the km...

other then that I'm waitting on funds to gather the brake parts needed for the axle swap, so I'll upgrade to the double piston at the same time.

so far I'm short the following parts, but have the rest:
-both front doube piston caliper
-ebrake cable going to axle
-Master cylinder for 4x4 disc brake setup
-both rear calipers

and I forgot to add how I was able to pull most of the frame back... the rest was done with a mini sledge lol

Was just enough room to pull the plastic pieces that was left out

Pulled it out more , then was a le to access the bolts

Swapped out busted door pin bushings from the accident, and re aligned the door handle bar, so the wife can now open the door from the inside again.

That was knocked out of place from the accident aswell, but I noticed the little plastic piece that hold the bar there is broken, so bent a little piece of aluminum, and slapped some gorilla tape on it to hold it in place, and stop the bar from coming out of place.

Swapped out the thermostat, noticed that the truck stays under 100 now. She used to go to just over, but nothing major, so it's an improvement. I swapped out the fan and clutch because the one on it had a piece chipped off one of the blades.

Broken fan blade. Might swap the clutch out to see if the temps go down more on her...

Not much done... got a couple of patio stone in the box for weight in a home made brace. And the wife decided to steal my rims for her truck... so looks like I get my old winters back lol...

Amazing work.

Got her on a "spin"?

I like the places over here where they have stopped putting salt on the roads in winter. Usually just inside town. But have not seen much snow in the last 15 years at my place.

Thanks error, mean alot coming from a guy who pays attention to detail like you do lol.

I'm not sure what you mean by "got her on a spin"?

i hate the fact that they use salt! They started using salt and sand back in the late 90s, but moved back to just salt at some point. It's such a pain to keep up on it... I gotta get her truck up on stands next summer and lay some sort of rust paint underneath. She has alot of surface rust, but is still solid.

side note: managed to find 2 zq8 rims for 100$, so the sonoma and blazer both have a set of 5 for summers...

Well... make sure only the tires spin in the snow and not the pickup as a whole.
Have friends in Vancouver. Took his ATV's once in winter and he said let's take if for a spin. He meant it literally...

Nice to have two sets of wheels on indentical rims. Wife should be happy with the truck. Looks really nice. Good you could fix that damage relatively easy. Means more paint to go onto the truck.
