305 to 406 stroker
i just recently bought a 83 k5 blazer (4x4 my first truck and i love it) with a 305 i have a sbc 400 in my garage. Casting # 330817 its a 1975 2 bolt main ( i think they were stronger than the 4 bolt main i could be wrong ) came out of a A or B body Chevy.
i want to build something with around the 450 to 500 hp and 450 to 500 ft. tq to the rear wheels. will a stock 400 block be ok or should i find something else to build. 350 383 377 406. i Dont want to make a all out monster truck i want to use this truck as a weekend fishing, hunting, playing in sand and mud, so it would half to be street friendly. But i want the power when i need it.
Thanks any info will help

Heck the stock 400 is a torque moster by itself. I hear a few people building up 400s. I have a stock one and love it

Shouldn't be a problem. If you are pushing it past 450HP, I would search for a 4-bolt block or get the block modified to run splayed main caps.
