Default Engine swap: 4.3 to a 2.2

Just wondering if anyone has ever swapped out the 4.3 for a 2.2 on a 4x4 Jimmy/Blazer/S10/Sonoma? I mean, obviously it would be slow as *****, but the MPGgains may be worth it.[/align]

I had a 2003 s10 with a 2.2/5 speed 2wd it was underpoweredand the mileage was nothing to cheer about in a 4x4 it would suck.

Drop a 350 in it. My mild 350 gets 18 to 20 hiway, all it has is 1.6 roller rockers, edelbrock performer intake, demon 525 cfm 4bbl carb, MSD HEI distributor, dual exhaust

why a 350 while ur at it just drop a 572 in it. that power to weight ratio would be awesome

A 572 would be awesome if it wouldnt blow axles and transfer cases out every day, lol! alot of work to swapit out to narrowed 12 or 14 bolt axles front and rear. When my 350 gets tired it will be reborn as a 383 stroker [8D]

while in the process of the 572 just pick yourself up a 14bolt or two and do a sfas, 383 would be nice iam kinda like 396

Realistically I would just say a 350, not to mention you can by a new car for the price of a 572, but we all have our dreams, lol.
