Default 1997 Blazer Trans Problem

Hello, I have a 1997 Cheve S 10 Blazer. I had trans problems so I bought a use one at a salvage yard. I was told that it had about 127,00 on it. It only had a 30 day warranty which has expired. What I have is when I travel with it a while, it shifts real hard into second gear. When it is cold, it works great. Has anyone got any imput on this ? Thank you.

My shifting lever works fine. It is when it is on the up shift in the transmission that it sorta slams into second. By the way, this is an automatic trans.

I've been having problems with the transmission in my 98 S10 Blazer. I could almost write a book about my experience so far. I'll keep it short though. My transmission overheats and vaporizes transmission fluid. I originally thought it was coming out of the transmission vent tube but after removing the transmission and transfer case I found out that it's actually the transfer case breather. Anyway. I spoke to a transmission shop because I too had problems shifting from second to third when it was hot. I was informed that the 2-3 springs wear out in the transmission. That's just my two cents. I've tried the shift kits and it didn't make a difference. I'm in the process of installing a reman tranny. I'll let you know how it goes.
