2001 gmc jimmy transmission compatability
#2
First off does it have the removable bellhousing. If so yes.
You'll need to tear down half of the transmission. Remove valve body. Remove pump.
Pull out the input drum, and reverse drum remove band, remove and replace snapring. remove sunshell
Then tap out output shaft on 4x4 model. Two wheel model remove tail housing.
You'll need a ATSG manual . Inspect 3-4 clutch pack as it sees lot of off on action. Or pay a trans shop to tear down and inspect clutch packs as you'll be over half way to a complete tear down.
It takes me half a day to do it. $400 later.
