99 blazer timing chain and gears bad?
I have a 99 blazer and I think it jumped timing. i have everything off and am looking at the timing chain and gears. does anyone have a write up on how to remove and install and how to set the timing right on the timing chain or can anyone tell me how. It does look like the timing is off from what i believe is the two timing marks but im not real sure so any help would be great thanks.

well there should be a timing mark on the crank and cam gears the cam mark should be in the 6 o clock position and the crank should be 12 o clock position to line up correct, it is possible to of jumped the timing if your chain has enough play in it. in order to change the timing chain you need to remove the water pump, i do it with the fan still connected to the pump but some take it off, unplug the crank sensor, remove the timing cover, unbolt the cam gear, take off the timing chain, use a puller usually a 2 arm puller works for me to pull the crank gear off then tap the new lower gear on, bolt the cam gear on with the new chain in place then throw your timing cover back on
