Default advice on trans service

can anyone give advice on service for a 99 auto with 67000 miles?have heard horror stories on the new fluid wasting clucthes.is ther a good additive to prevent this?thanks

With that low of miles, you should be good with just a pan drop and filter change or a flush if you so choose. Unless the fluid is burnt, you should not really have to do a flush. While the pan is off, install an add-on drain plug and you will never have to pull the pan again. Remember, the only thing to plug up a transmission filter is the transmission parts themselves!

thanks for the feedback,do they seel the plugs for the old pan or do you have to get a new pan?Also are they easy to obtain?

B&M makes a pretty good add on drain plug. Just drill a hole and install the plug. I use red loctite on the jam nut used to make sure that it does not come loose. This will add some time, but good insurance against having to drop the pan again.
