Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! I think I'll go with the $160 flush and fill. Then if the whole filter thing REALLY bothers me I'll buy the GM part and do it myself. If I decide to do that, is it okey for me to put the same "new" fluid back in after I replace the pan?

I don't see why not as long as the fluid looks clear, clean and doesn't smell burnt.

Hi, I had a question. According to GM, in my country, tranny oil change is just the oil pan volume (6 to 8 qts) plus oil filter per 25k miles (40k km). If know tranny had 135k km, and the last "oil change according to GM was around 80k km (50k miles), it is dangerous to perform a total flush or just perform a 66% flush know (10 qts) and next 25k miles do a total flushing?

PS 10 qts flushing because MAG ATF dexron III sales here in 2.5 gallon format an it is a lot cheap than buying 8 qts bottles...

Never flush it it can break loose sludge and make problems, just do a filter and then refill!

Ok, but the refill volume is near to 6 o to 10 Qty?. GM service says 8 Qty (it had a deep pan... but...)

Just watch the dipstick! Remember to check ATF it needs to be at normal operation temp in neutral and on a flat surface.
